What style of chair is most appropriate for use with a Goddard six-shell Chippendale secretary?

I wasn't sure whether to post this question under the "case furniture" or "seating furniture & beds" category, as it relates to both.

Although I am far off from completing my mahogany Goddard six-shell Chippendale secretary, it has occurred to me that my next period furniture project after this should probably be a chair dedicated to go with the secretary. My question is, what style (or styles) of chair is most appropriate for use with a secretary desk such as this?

I've not studied chairs to any extent, but I don't recall ever seeing a chair of this period that was specifically designated as intended for use as a desk chair. I assume that a mahogany Chippendale chair of the same period, incorporating some amount of carving, might be in order, but what design features would it have - would it have arms, etc.? Also, would another style of chair from the era, such as a sackback or continuous arm Windsor, also be appropriate - or are they too "country" to go with this secretary?

Maybe I can find the answer in museum period rooms, but in any event I would be curious to hear the thoughts of members who have studied chairs in depth.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.
