I have the spice box book and have a good idea how they are put together. Does anyone have any specific information, photos, or measured drawings that might help in building one?

Some years ago Craig Bentzley wrote an excellent article for American Woodworking Magazine (back when it was a Rodale Magazine, I believe) with measured drawings and other infomation about building a spice box.  I don't have access to my copy right now so I cannot provide further details. You may wish to contact Craig.  He is a member of the Forum.

Reference: My American Woodworker article, Issue #36. There's no need to scan. I already have it in pdf format for those that are interested. Let me know.
