Well, you missed a good one!
Chris Tenney showed us pictures of the three tall case clocks he made, Jim Crammond brought some planes and marking gages, Andrew Messimer had a Windsor chair to show, Bill Vetter displayed a military memorial box, Dave Boeff brought his Goddard card table, and special guest Marco Terenzi awed us all with his miniatures. Bill Wayland brought his carving platform along with his tall case clock.

Mike Holden presented a talk on the language of moldings. Now we can tell the difference between cyma rectas and cyma reversas. Also, we are not likely to forget the five main purposes of mouldings – embellish, support, separate, translate, and terminate. (grin – you had to be there)
He also re-ran his chemistry experiment from the Ohio chapter meeting, where he showed five different solutions for removing rust. Setting them up on Saturday and letting them set overnight so that on Sunday we could see how well the different solutions did. The five were: evaporust, molasses, lemon-lime kool-aid, citric acid, and electrolysis.

Sunday had a fascinating presentation on the making of a Townsend-Goddard tall case clock by Bill Wayland. The effort put into this was immense, including making a prototype on poplar and making a pin router for cutting the moulding on the hood! The pin router was as intriguing as his clock.

The meeting finished up with Jim Crammond demonstrating how to refurbish a flea market plane back to usable condition.
Lots of interesting presentations.
Don’t miss the next meeting on March 21/22 2015.
