Registration is now open for Ray Journigan's 2025 Hand Tool Class Series. Following are details:
  • Who: This class series is for those woodworkers who want to develop (or improve) a strong foundation of hand tool skills for furniture or other project building. Even if you prefer using power tools, the skills you'll develop in this series will make you a more precise/efficient woodworker, and enable you to see the many options available to completing builds.
  • What: These classes will cover wood selection/preparation, measuring/marking, cutting, joining and shaping.
  • When: The 2nd Sunday of every month (all day) for six to eight months starting this spring.
  • Where: Woodcraft Norfolk
  • Why: If you want to be a very good woodworker, learn from one of the very best. Ray is a leader in the furniture making world, and is the 2018 Cartouche Award recipient from the Society of Period Furniture Makers (SAPFM). He's a tremendous talent and instructor. For more about Ray, see his Instagram page.
  • Cost: The cost of each class is being finalized, but will be about $150. Registering commits you to all of the classes in the series.
To register, or for questions, email Barry Payne (payne.barry@gmail.com). Since the classroom space is limited, register soon (by February 15th).

If this discussion was useful, there are twenty years of them here. Join SAPFM to take part — the forum, the journal, the magazine and the members’ gallery come with membership.
