THE FINE ART OF
FINISHING MAHOGANY

The Lone Star Chapter of the Society of American Period Furniture Makers will meet on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at R. J. Simpson, Inc., Maker and Conservator of Fine Furnishings, 8564 Katy Freeway, Suite 134, Houston, Texas  77024, 713-827-8063.  Our host will be Christopher Simpson.  Chris will demonstrate how to get that antique appearance on mahogany that we all seek, from start to finish.  Chris will discuss dyes/stains, grain filling, finishes and how to apply them and demonstrate french polishing.  This should be a very informative meeting.

As usual, bring a sack lunch.  Drinks will be provided.  Don't forget to bring all of your finishing questions!
Hope to see all of you on March 14th.

All current dues paying SAPFM members are most welcome.

If this discussion was useful, there are twenty years of them here. Join SAPFM to take part — the forum, the journal, the magazine and the members’ gallery come with membership.
