August 24th was the first official meeting of the Florida Chapter of SAPFM! It was well received by those who attended We had several new members who just joined SAPFM as a result of starting this chapter. Our host for this meeting was Jim Hamer who allowed us to use his facility Hardwood Lumber and Millwork in Lakeland, Florida.

Art Peters did a three hour demonstration of the various attributes of carving and brought examples for discussion and viewing. Eric Codner demonstrated inlaying stringing and the tools and jigs required to implement the process. We were also joined by Ken Johnson who demonstrated how to control grain in curved applications.

If this discussion was useful, there are twenty years of them here. Join SAPFM to take part — the forum, the journal, the magazine and the members’ gallery come with membership.
