For those that don't read the other woodworking net forums, Auriou announced yesterday, Oct. 16th that they are out of business, apparently as a result of a labor dispute.

No doubt Tom Lie-Nielsen is a savvy enough business man to make Micheal Auriou an "offer he can't refuse" to train his people to make these and move production to Maine, but in the meantime getting them may be tough.

Thought the SAPFM members, particularly carvers, would want to know so that they could order some remaining stock from Lee Valley, Lie-Nielsen, The Best Things, Tools for Working Wood, etc...

If this discussion was useful, there are twenty years of them here. Join SAPFM to take part — the forum, the journal, the magazine and the members’ gallery come with membership.
